KMC Increases Special Allowance Of Rs2,000 Per Month In Salaries Of Disabled Employees

KARACHI– The Karachi Metropolitan Municipality (KMC) has increased the special allowance of Rs 2,000 per month in the salaries of disabled employees. The Sindh government had issued regular orders in this regard in view of which Administrator Karachi Laiq Ahmed issued an order under which Employees who have been duly certified by the Social Welfare Department of the Government of Sindh or who have been issued an ID card by NADRA as a person with a disability have been immediately given an immediate increase of Rs. They have been directed to ensure that this allowance is included in the salary of a disabled person.

The issue of an increase in the salaries of disabled employees has been pending since 2016, Karachi Administrator Laiq Ahmed took notice of this. Decided to implement it immediately so that the employees who are suffering from some kind of disability can benefit from it. After the issuance of this order, the persons with disabilities have expressed their happiness and said that it will help us. It will help to come to the office and reduce our financial difficulties, the administration said “People with disabilities are part of our society and their rights need to be protected in order to make them productive citizens so that they can perform their duties in offices together,” he said. “We need to treat disabled employees better.” They should be empowered and encouraged so that they do not suffer from despair and frustration, he said, adding that physical disability is a test from Allah Almighty and any person can be disabled at any time in life. They should be treated with special respect and made to feel that they are in no way inferior to other ordinary people
