LAHORE– The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab is continuing crackdown against illegal housing schemes owned by politicians and lodging multiple FIRs.
The ACE booked wife, son, ex-mayor Sialkot Choudhry Toheed Akhtar and PML-N Ex-MPA from Chunia Ahsan Raza Khan in illegal housing schemes scandals on Saturday.
In a statement a statement issued from the office of the Spokesperson to ACE Punjab, it was stated that millions of rupees loss had been incurred to public exchequer in the form of site map and conversion fees evasions by these so called champions of good governance.
The Kent Society jointly owned by Toheed Akhtar and Khawaja Asif had illegally included 281 kanal of land after the approval of first map which was illegal as per Punjab Government’s private housing society schemes. The said society had also sold out plots from the area marked for open areas such as parks , grave yard and public amenities the reference said.
While Mr. Ahsan Raza Khan an Ex-MPA of PML-N from Tehsil Chunian of district Kasur had incurred huge financial loss to the public exchequer by illegally establishing a housing scheme and encroaching one acre land of the RHC Kanganpur by building a commercial market and selling its shops without any legal justification.
He had been selling plots in his society namely AlJanat Town without having its maps or site approved by LDA or local municipality office . The reference received from DC Kasur to DG ACE categorically recommended criminal proceedings against Mr. Ahsan Raza for causing huge financial loss to public exchequer through tax and site conversion fees.
Commenting on the matter, DG ACE Gohar Nafees said that law will take its course and those involved in tax evasion and malpractices will be dealt with iron hand. Every single penny of the public exchequer will be recovered from the culprits.— PRESS RELEASE
