Home Dept Seeks Details to ‘Appoint’ DEOs As Regional Emergency Officers in Rescue 1122 Punjab

LAHORE– The Punjab Home department has asked the Director General of Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) to provide the details of assigning responsibilities to nine officers in BS-19 as Regional Emergency Officers (REOs) in nine regions of the province.
The DG, in a written correspondence issued on July 28, 2020, has been asked to provide details for the post of REO as per Budget Book 2020-21 along with post sanctioning order of the Punjab Finance department within two days.

On the other hand, the DG has made postings of upgraded officers in districts through an executive order.
The Home department through another order has sought from the human resource department of the PES the organogram of the Punjab Emergency Service and the Emergency Services Academy as per Budget Book 2020-21, duly-attested criteria of all posts mentioned in Budget Book 2020-21 duly prescribed by HRMC, personal files of all officers who were granted time scale promotion on July 23, 2020, list of all contract employees who are eligible for regularization and bifurcation of all posts of PES/ESA on the basis of regular budget and SNEs.
DG posts upgraded 9 EOs as DEOs, upgrades 9 Senior DEOs in BS-19
According to a press release issued by the spokesperson of Rescue 1122, the Director General Punjab Emergency Service posted upgraded 9 Emergency Officers from BS17 to BS 18 as District Emergency Officers, whereas 9 Senior District Emergency Officer upgraded in BS 19 posted as Regional Emergency Officers (REOs) upon successful completion of ten years of good regular service.
DG Rescue Punjab said that good performing officers have been upgraded and given independent responsibilities to maintain the standard of the Service.
He expressed these views in a meeting held at the Rescue Headquarters. The meeting was attended by offices of the Rescue Headquarters and the Emergency Services Academy.
DG Rescue Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer said that it is a matter of immense pleasure to acknowledge the services of good hard-working Rescue Officers and the main reason for the success of Rescue 1122 is its Performance-Based Evaluation System.
All upgraded officers have been given responsibilities of independent command of the Districts and Division to ensure the uniform standards of the Service across Punjab. He congratulated 56 Rescue Officers upgraded to BS 19 and BS-18 in the first and second phase of up-gradation in pursuance to the Finance Department Notification regarding up-gradation of Officers upon successful completion of ten years of good regular service.
Nine upgraded Rescue Officer from BS -18 to BS-19 were given responsibilities of Regional Emergency Officers (REOs) of 9 divisions of Punjab. Dr Muhammad Azam was given charge as REO Lahore, Dr Abdur Rahman as REO Rawalpindi, Dr Faisal Mehmood as REO Sargodha, REO Dr Ejaz Anjum as REO Multan, Dr Muhammad Irshad ul Haq as REO DG Khan, Dr Muhammad Ashfaq as REO Faisalabad, Dr Muhammad Natiq Hayat as REO Sahiwal, Dr Abdul Sattar as REO Bahawalpur, and Syed Kamal Abid as REO Gujjaranwal.
Besides, nine upgraded Emergency Officers from BS-17 to BS-18 in second phase were also given charge of District Emergency Officers (DEOs) and posted in the districts of Punjab. Dr Muhammad Khalid DEO Khanewal, Dr. Nayyar Alam DEO Muzaffargarh, Engr. Hafiz Abdul Rasheed DEO Khushab, Engr. Danish Khalil DEO Vehari, Naveed Iqbal DEO Sialkot, Muhammad Naeem Akhter DEO Narowal, Ahmad Kamal DEO Jhang, Ali Hussain DEO Rawalpindi and Dr. Adil Hussain is posted as District Emergency Officer RY Khan.
The Head of HR Wing, Dr Foaad Shahzad Mirza apprised the DG Rescue Punjab that in the next phase BS16 cases are being reviewed before consideration for time scale up- gradation. At the end, DG Rescue Punjab wished all upgraded officers good luck for new responsibilities and directed them to maintain the standard of the Service as the day this Emergency Service starts compromising on its standards we shall not be able to maintain the standard of this model lifesaving Emergency Service and it shall be injustice to the public at large.
