Rescue 1122 DG Reviews Performance of DEOs During Conference On Corona Management

The District Emergency Officers (DEOs) conference was held on Saturday to review the Corona Emergency Management strategy during smart lockdown, morbidity & mortality analysis and performance of the districts.  

The efficient use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs) Kits, timely and professional emergency response to corona emergencies, proper disinfection of staff, vehicles & equipment, and suspected burial protocols, smart utilization of store items through newly developed Rescue Inventory Management Software, the fitness of the staff and flood preparedness were also discussed in detail at the conference. 

The DEOs conference was chaired by DG Rescue Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer held at Rescue Headquarters, was attended by all District Emergency Officers, Dr Foaad Shahzad Mirza DD(HR), Faheem Ahmad Qureshi DD (P&D), Ejaz Virk Deputy Director (Finance), Ayaz Aslam DD (Operations), Engr. Toheed DD(R&M), and other senior officers from Rescue Headquarters and Academy.

All districts officers briefed the chair that corona emergencies were dealt as per guidelines issued by Rescue Headquarters and rescuers performed shifting of corona patients, burials, disinfection of public places, ration distribution, awareness about preventive measures to reduce the spread of corona.

They informed about unique initiatives taken at district levels to motivate the staff and to ensure the quality of the Emergency Service in the districts. Each district emergency officers gave a detailed briefing to the Director-General about major incidents/emergencies dealt, repair & maintenance of vehicles, physical fitness tests conducted of rescuers, cleanliness of the rescue stations, emergency vehicles, preventive measures taken through District Emergency Board Meetings and steps were taken to ensure Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) of the Service.

At this occasion, all 36 DEOs were also evaluated in this conference by all Head of Wings under the supervision of DG Rescue Punjab Dr Rizwan Naseer. The Head of Safety Wing Muhammad Ahsan demonstrated the method of decontamination and disinfection of reusable of corona safety kits and also shared updated guidelines with officers to deal with the corona emergencies.

While addressing the conference, DG Rescue Punjab emphasized to ensure uniform standards of the service and smooth services delivery without any discrimination and reviewed the overall Performance of all District Emergency Officers.

He also emphasized proper usage of Personal Protective Equipment including proper Donning & Doffing, disinfecting of Reusable Coveralls and Shoes, fit testing of Face Masks, and said while using proper PPE must ensure the provision of timely, quality and professional emergency services to all citizens without any discrimination.

He stressed to conduct a daily review of morbidity and mortality data of emergencies to determine the causes of emergencies and recommend its preventive measures in District Emergency Board meetings.

He appreciated the all districts staff over shifting of 10000 corona patients and 605 suspected corona burials across Punjab. He also acknowledged the Services of DEOs to provide Patient Transfer Service over 743,000 critically ill-victims and timely managing over 500,000 emergencies through Motorbike Ambulance Service.

Earlier, all participants of the conference prayed for the Shuhada of PIA plane crash. They prayed that May Almighty bless the departed souls with the highest place in Paradise and give the patience and courage to all bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss (Ameen). They also paid rich tribute to the Services of former DG PDMA Khalid Sherdil who got Shahadat in the plane crash incident.

DG Rescue Punjab acknowledged the services of Shaheed Khalid Sherdil as his countless support to Emergency Services made possible the establishment of flood Rescue Wing in the Service. He said, Shaheed Khalid Sherdil will always be remembered by all of us.
