LAHORE – A representative delegation of THE Chain of Pharmacies Association called on DIG Operations Lahore Rai Babar Saeed in his office on Wednesday. SSP Operations Lahore Muhammad Naveed was also present on this occasion.
Taumoor Ibrar Mumtaz, Doctor Muhammad Zeeshan, Arjumand Maqsood, Syed Usman Farooq and Muhammad Ali Farooq from Fazal Din Pharma Plus, New Mehmoood Pharmacy, Servaid, CSH Pharmacy and Mehmood Pharmacy were included in the delegation.
The delegation discussed matters and issues related to the sale of face masks and sanitizers in the wake of impending coronavirus. DIG Operations Rai Babar Saeed said that members from all sections of society can defeat this fatal pandemic with collective efforts.
He said that it is necessary to take indiscriminate action against profiteers and hoarders during the present situation. Rai Babar Saeed said that availability of face masks and sanitizers at proper prices to the citizens is the most important matter at this time.
DIG Operations urged that pharmacies have vital role in provision of items and medicines to the citizens for precautions and treatment purpose against Corona virus at proper prices. Rai Babar Saeed said that the prices of masks and sanitizers will be fixed in the forth coming meeting of pharmacies representatives with District Government according to the product quality and range.
He said that, being Law Enforcement Agency, Lahore Police will ensure implementation on sale of face masks and sanitizers at fixed prices. Rai Babar Saeed said that strict action will be taken against any violation of sale of mask and sanitizer at prices, fixed by the stake holders. DIG Operations said that in wake of present situation, all pharmacies should make profiteers and holders accountable for any violation in this regard.
Rai Babar Saeed further said that pharmacies should display the lists of masks and sanitizers along with other medicines and related items on their shops on prominent places. The representatives of Pharmacies Association assured full cooperation to Lahore Police and District Government regarding sale of masks and sanitizers at fixed prices.
Lahore Police distributed more than 5000 masks and 2500 sanitizers among Police Force as precautionary measures against Corona virus. These masks and sanitizers were distributed among employees of different offices of Lahore Police, all Police Stations and pickets.
SSP Operations Lahore Muhammad Naveed also distributed masks and sanitizers among the staff of different branches of DIG office Lahore including Security branch, Computer section, HRM, Establishment branch, OPS Room Readers branch, PRO and PSO sections as well.
Facility of sanitizers has also been provided to the employees of DIG Operations office at entry gate as well for citizens and complainants visiting this office. DIG Operations Lahore Rai Babar Saeed said that awareness has also been given to different units of Lahore Police on regular basis through seminars and workshops regarding precautions and safety measures against Corona virus.
He further said that the directions regarding precautionary measures have also been displayed at different offices, Police Stations and Khiamat Marakiz through pan flexes. Rai Babar Saeed informed that face masks and sanitizers are being distributed among the Police personnel on priority basis who deal with public at Front Desks, Police Pickets, Muharrar Rooms and other public dealing sections.
These masks and sanitizers have been distributed among the Police Force deputed at Sherpao bridge Naka, Shami Road, Walton Road, Gajjumata, Thokar Niaz Baig, Shera Kot, Saggiyan bridge, New and Old Ravi bridges Nakas and Mehmood Booti Sialkot Motorway Naka.–PRESS RELEASE
