LAHORE– The St. Anthony’s High School’s delegation of students has recently visited the United Kingdom on an invitation of Brookshire Global Education with a view to comprehend the education system of London schools, besides projecting the soft image of Pakistan abroad.
School principal Shahid Ambrose Moghal, who was leading the delegation, said that they were welcomed warmly by the Brookshire Global Education where he introduced the School, faculty and discussed the scope of education in Pakistan.
He shared his views and research about the educational sector in Pakistan and the challenges at hand. The students’ group had a productive discussion on how they can be dealt with and how education can be enhanced for the society.
Shahid Ambrose said that the delegation visited with the aim to make international linkages stronger and better in all respects, especially in the field of education, research and exchange programmes.
Strengthening mutual collaborations, increasing international, multidisciplinary and cross-cultural initiatives for students in both countries was also an important aim of the visit. The initiative will enhance cultural ties, build relationships, and promote educational collaboration, training and research with the developed countries, he added.
The principal said that educational tours are very important in several ways and one of them is that they help students to learn through visual experience and can be an interesting way to explore new things for both the learner and the teacher.
Apart from that, they help in educating children on complex topics with students having the opportunity to get concepts through live examples.
Since the goal of education is to impart knowledge to students, they gain knowledge and upgrade their skills by using the new concepts they learn from these educational tours. In addition, educational tours play an important role in educating our learners in a practical and interesting manner.
He said that something that is seen in real can be easily perceived than something that we simply read in books. So taking our students to trips that will relate to their academics can help them learn much better.
Further, educational tours can also be a way to have fun and recreation. He suggested that every school must encourage learners to participate in educational tours. These tours motivate the learners to have interest in learning, he added.
Shahid Ambrose Moghal observed that the basic reason for educating students is to let them know more and dig deep into many concepts and explore them. This cannot be fulfilled only with the help of books and classroom learning.
