Digitalisation: Punjab University To Receive Admission Forms Online
LAHORE– Punjab University Department of Examinations will now receive admission forms of affiliated colleges online in various degrees for the first time.
On the directions of PU Vice Chancellor Prof Niaz Ahmad, the measure has been taken to facilitate students and administrative staff of affiliated colleges, who had to visit New Campus from various parts of the country.
In this regard, the PU VC presided over a meeting at the office of Controller of Examinations here on Monday. Pro Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Saleem Mazhar, Registrar Dr Muhammad Khalid Khan, Controller of Examinations Rauf Nawaz, Additional Controller Raja Shahid Javed, Deputy Controller Khuram Inayat and others participated in the meeting.
Briefing the meeting, Mr Rauf Nawaz said that as many as one hundred thousand students of Associate Degree in Commerce, B Com Part 1 & 2, M.A/M.Sc. Part 1 & 2, LLB three-year program’s Part 1 supplementary, Part 2 & 3 and LLB five-year program’s Part 1, 2 and 3 would submit their registration forms through online system this year.
He said that a pilot project of the online system had been tested on the students of affiliated colleges in BS four years program and around 7,500 admission forms were received online in January this year.
Prof Niaz Ahmad directed the administration to make the whole system online in order to facilitate more than five hundred thousand regular and private students of PU every year.
He said that the digitalization would help minimize usage of papers at large scale that it would contribute towards betterment of environment as well.— PRESS RELEASE
