LAHORE– As many as 45 lecturers and assistant professors from public sector colleges of Sargodha division received training on andragogic and pedagogic skills during a workshop held at the Punjab Higher Education Commission (PHEC)’s Staff Development Academy Lahore.
Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid, Chairman PHEC, was the chief guest at the concluding ceremony.
Addressing the concluding session, PHEC Chairperson Prof Dr Fazal Ahmad Khalid said that the traditional role of universities and colleges, in the era of the fourth industrial revolution, had been transformed from teaching platforms to the hubs of entrepreneurial ideas and knowledge-based economies.
“We have to abreast our teachers of the latest teaching and learning methodologies in order to compete with the modern trends” he emphasized.
“Punjab Higher Education Commission is contributing to meet hone the skills of teachers through their continuous professional development workshops” he added.
The training workshop that lasted for two-days covered a wide range of topics including modern teaching/learning methodologies and tools, technological integration into pedagogy, classroom management, boosting students’ interest in classroom activities, and effective evaluation of their performance.
Eminent resource persons delivered lectures to the faculty members. Certificates were distributed among the participants at the end.– PRESS RELEASE
