New York: For the first time, the United Nations has said in its report that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
In its detailed report, the UN Commission of Inquiry wrote that since October 2023, Israeli forces have bombarded homes, shelters, and safe places, in which more than half of the victims were women, children, and the elderly.
According to the report, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other top officials not only supported this aggression but also urged it to be intensified. The Commission concluded that the goal of the Israeli army and officials is to completely or partially eliminate the Palestinians in Gaza.
The head of the Commission, Navi Pillay, said that after reviewing the statements and actions, it has been proven that Israel is to be held responsible for this genocide.
On the other hand, the Israeli government has rejected this report, calling it “false and insulting.”
