Karachi- Chairman Air Karachi and prominent businessman Hanif Goher revealed that gold reserves worth $636 billion exist in the soil of Tarbela Dam. The Prime Minister and Army Chief have already been briefed about it, and the Army Chief gave an immediate positive response on this matter.
Speaking to the media at Karachi Press Club, he said that to confirm the presence of gold in the soil of Tarbela Dam, we obtained soil samples from inside the dam through divers. The samples were studied in a laboratory to determine the rate of gold content, and then this result was multiplied by the cubic feet of soil in the area containing gold. After this, it was concluded that gold worth $636 billion is present there.
Hanif Goher said that we informed the Prime Minister and Army Chief that there are gold reserves in Tarbela Dam and that it is urgently necessary to extract the dam’s soil. Tarbela Dam has been built for sixty years and its soil has never been extracted. I presented all these requests to the Army Chief, who assigned the duty to the head of SIFC, General Sarfraz. After that, I went to GHQ and briefed General Sarfraz, who referred the matter to the then Chairman WAPDA, Sajad Ghani.
Hanif Goher said that discussions were held with Sajad Ghani, and we told him that he could carry out the project himself. If he does not, our company is available, we will invest ourselves, and the entire gold will be extracted and handed over to the country. We are awaiting the government’s response on this.
Hanif Goher further said that if they carry out the project, that is fine. If it is handed over to us, our team is ready. I have spoken about this in the Netherlands; the biggest dredging work is done there. Our partners are present in Amsterdam and Canada, and I have held meetings with them. If the government grants us permission, we are fully ready to complete this project. These gold reserves in Tarbela will pay off the national debt.
He said that domestic operations of Air Karachi will start from March 23 across the country, with a minimum of three and a maximum of five Airbus aircraft available for Air Karachi. Domestic operations will continue for one year, after which international operations will start.
Hanif Goher said that for the first time, a four-star hotel is being built in Hyderabad, covering five acres. The budget deficit of the country cannot be overcome without the development of the construction industry. In Karachi, the system is now working on the back foot rather than the front foot.
