LAHORE MIRROR — Police Surgeon Dr Samia has told a commission investigating the Mir Raza murder case that she received threats and was followed on a motorcycle for two days.
Appearing before the commission constituted to investigate the case, Dr Samia alleged that she had been threatened with serious consequences over her involvement in the matter.
In her statement, she said she was told that if she wrote the case off as a suicide, she would be treated with a “lighter hand”. She also alleged that a public campaign was being conducted against her.
Dr Samia said she had put her career at stake for the case, describing the Mir Raza murder investigation as a test case for her.
“I am not worried about myself; I am concerned about my family,” she told the commission.
She further informed the commission that she had lodged a complaint with the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) regarding the threats.
The commission asked Dr Samia whether she required security, to which she initially said she needed police protection.
Commission head Justice Umar Sial said he could direct the authorities to provide Rangers security. However, Dr Samia subsequently said that she did not require security.
