LAHORE (LAHORE MIRROR) — Police have registered a case against three unidentified men after a viral CCTV video showed a group allegedly assaulting workers at a petrol pump on Airport Road and threatening them with a rifle.
The case was registered at South Cantt police station on the complaint of the petrol pump administration following the incident, which occurred at around 5:10am on Sept 6, according to the FIR.
The incident began when one of the suspects allegedly got out of a vehicle and attempted to urinate at the petrol pump. After workers stopped him, an argument reportedly broke out and the situation escalated into an assault on the employees.
According to the FIR, one of the men allegedly went back to the vehicle, took out a rifle and loaded it before threatening a petrol pump employee with dire consequences. A security guard who tried to intervene was also allegedly threatened.
The confrontation was captured by CCTV cameras and the footage subsequently went viral on social media, prompting police action.
The FIR names three suspects as unidentified and states that police have begun efforts to trace them with the help of CCTV footage.
Police registered the case under Section 506-B of the Pakistan Penal Code and initiated an investigation into the incident.
The development comes a day after the CCTV footage sparked widespread attention, showing the alleged assault and the apparent display of a rifle during the confrontation.
Police are now working to identify and arrest the suspects involved in the incident.
