LAHORE MIRROR — Iran has described Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) and Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir’s visit to the country as highly positive, saying it achieved important diplomatic successes.
A statement issued by the office of Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said the Iran’s visit of CDF Asim Munir had resulted in important diplomatic achievements and that its outcomes would begin to emerge soon.
Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni also said meetings between Pakistani officials and senior Iranian officials were held in a highly cordial and positive atmosphere.
Earlier, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said CDF Asim Munir held meetings with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and other senior officials, during which the Iran-US conflict, efforts to reduce tensions in the Middle East, measures to reopen the Strait of Hormuz and mechanisms for resolving disputes through dialogue to promote regional peace were discussed.
According to ISPR, the Iranian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and sincere efforts to facilitate dialogue, de-escalation and a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
