Virtual University, CSA Lahore Ink MoU on Online Teaching and Research Sharing

LAHORE– The Virtual University of Pakistan (VUP) and Civil Services Academy, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to collaborate in online teaching, online examination system, and academic cooperation between two institutions of research analysis.

Rector VU Naeem Tariq and Director General CSA, Dr Sajid Yoosufani signed the accord in a ceremony held at M.A Jinnah Campus, Defense Road Lahore here on Tuesday.

Dr Sajid Yoosufani, Mr. Zulfiqar Younas, Director (CTP), CSA, Lahore, Syed Shabir Akbar Zaidi, Ehsan Zafar Puri, Director ICT, Dr Mohsin Javed, Registrar VU, Dr Arshad Hussain Hashmi, Director, ORIC, Professor Dr Malik Muhammad Arif Rafiq, Project Director Digiskills, Dr. Zafar Alvi,  Ahmer Sayeed Qazi, Director Administration,  Ms Rubina Ali, GM Marketing, Baber Ali, General Manager Television,  Dr Syed Salman Hassan, Deputy Director ORIC, Faisal Zia, Public Relations Officer and Ms Uzma Saleem, Director PID were also present at the occasion.

Addressing the ceremony, Dr. Sajid Yoosufani said that VU and CSA would collaborate for sharing of VU educational technological facilities in the areas of online teaching which includes VU Campuses sharing, online / E-Examination System to improve the effectiveness of CSA training.

He further said that both Federal Government institutions would work together on training opportunities to build trainee officer’s capacity for evidence-based decision making.

Both departments would proceed to set legal and administrative modalities for the award of degree such as master’s in public administration (MPA) or master’s in public policy (MPP) etc. to Common Training Program (CTP) and Specialized Training Program (STP) Probationers.

On this occasion, Rector VU said that, both the organizations would work on the provision of online training of Civil Servant which includes high-quality in-service training for Civil Servants in a cost-effective manner, utilization of VU Campuses and other allied facilities for CSA trainees, sharing of recorded lectures by VU on mutually agreed topics, holding of joint seminars, the publication of research work, exchange of research publications via library and other mutually agreed activities to achieve objectives of this MoU.

At the end of the ceremony, the CSA delegation visited VU TV Network and applauded the quality of education and its dissemination to all parts of the world.
