LAHORE MIRROR REPORT– The Punjab Food Authority’s enforcement teams have foiled an attempt to supply thousands of liters tainted milk which was being transported on a tanker from Sahiwal to Lahore on Tuesday.
The authority confiscated 3,000 litres thick liquid of adulterated milk prepared with hazardous powder, ghee, and chemicals, says a press release.
PFA Director General Captain (R) Muhammad Usman said a fully-loaded tank of milk was covered with wooden and sheets (chadar) to get hoodwinked to PFA by the enemies of the public health.
He said PFA has confiscated a vehicle however, drive fled away from the spot after seeing food dairy safety teams.
Officials disposed thousands of litres prepared fake thick liquid which had to use for preparing 12,000 liters tainted milk.
Liquid was prepared in Subpar area of Sahiwal to keep it safe from the eyes of food authority.
Usman further said polluted water was usually added in the liquid to increase the amount of milk, adding PFA has caught the vehicle after reconnaissance of supply the chain.
He also said PFA would fail their counterfeiting and chicanery of adulteration mafia by unearthing their hidden production units in Punjab.
The authority rolled up its sleeves against milk adulterators with the objective to bring down the wicked practice of them upon the directions of Prime Minister Imran Khan, the DG maintained.–Press Release
