LAHORE– Deputy Commissioner Lahore Ms Saleha Saeed has sought explanations from top slot of the Lahore Health Authority on showing poor performance in 12 union councils with regard to Lot Quality Assurance Sampling evaluated by the World Health Organization and Third Party in their report of previous polio drive.
She has also removed Union Council Polio Officer of UCs 55 and 59 over his poor and without detail briefing about LQAS in said UCs.
Those decisions were taken by Saleha Saeed during a meeting of Lot Quality Assurance Sampling, EPI and Anti Dengue Drive jointly held in Nadir Hall on Thursday.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner General, CEO Health, DDOs Health and officers of Agriculture, Education, Population and Cooperative.
During briefing about LQAS, the third party has identified t12 union councils where the polio teams of Health Authority did not work as per Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) and missed some children during polio drive.
Some children were not marked properly on their fingers after dropping polio drops to them upon which the DC took stern action and asked the ADCG to issue explanation letter to DDO Health Allama Iqbal Town and DDO Health DGBT on unsatisfactory reply.
She has removed UCPO Sultan from his area over unsatisfactory justification over LQAS.
She also directed the CEO Health to hold responsible all staff of the UC where LQAS had failed and directed him to take action against DDOs Health along with surrendering and initiation of punishments under PEEDA Act against them if they would not work well in the upcoming polio drive to be commenced from 22nd of April.
“Assistant Commissioners should sit with DDO Health and WHO field staff where LQAS has failed and sought out the problems of the identified Union Councils” she added.
With regard to the preparation of upcoming polio drive, the DC directed Agriculture, Population and Cooperative Departments to provide officials for the polio drive to overcome the issue of Human Resource.
She also ordered DO Health Dr Faisal to provide polio vaccine carriers, markers and ice packs to all DDO Health before the commencement of polio drops.
Saleha Saeed has instructed the CEO Health to gear up dengue surveillance in the provincial capital and indoor and outdoor surveillance be enhanced by the dengue teams.
On the direction of Deputy Commissioner Lahore Ms Saleha Saeed, Additional Deputy Commissioner General Lahore Tuqeer Haider Qazmi paid surprise visit to Fruit and Vegetable Market Badmi Bagh and monitored the auction of Onion and found no irregularity in regard with Dalli and Laggah.
He also checked cleanliness arrangements after rain and found dirtiness and mud in said market and directed Manager LWMC to emsure cleanliness till evening.
Moreover, Price Control Magistrates curbed overcharging in open markets of the city and imposed fine of 77,000 along with registration of 23 FIRs and 2 imprisonments. DC Lahore also asked all additional deputy commissioners to be in field to check overcharging.
The District Administration Lahore completed the process of application receiving for wheat procurement and as many as 3712 applications were submitted by farmers for obtaining gunny bags to be distributed on 22nd of April.
The District Administration has set four procurement centers in Rak Cuhbeal, Barki, Khana Kacha Mandi and Raiwind where District Administration started receiving applications from 8th of April and continued this process till 17th of April.
DC Lahore Saleha Saeed has said the process of gunny bags distribution would be started from 22nd of April and it would be made transparent and fair. She has also instructed ACs to supervise the entire process properly.
The District Administration Lahore has made outstanding arrangements on the arrival of Sikh Yatrees from Hassan Abdaal to Lahore on Thursday.
DC Lahore Saleha Saeed sent the AC City to review the arraignment at Gurdawara Dera Sahib, Railway Station and Schools they are being stayed who get all arrangements done under his supervision before the arrival of Sikh Yatrees.
More than 1800 Sikh Yatrees came to Lahore on Thursday via train on Lahore railway station where AC Shalimar welcomed them and later on they came to Gurdawara Dera Sahib where the AC City welcomed them.
The District Administration decorated the route with flowering plants and LWMC ensured cleanliness on route, Gurdawara Dera Sahib and schools where District Administration Lahore has made staying arrangements.
