PIA Post-Hajj Operation Completes, 82,000 Hujjaj Return to Destinations

KARACHI– PIA Post-Hajj Operation of bringing back more than 82,000 hujjaj from Saudi Arabia completed successfully with on time arrivals in Pakistan.

This year PIA carried more than 82,000 hujjaj which was 25 percent more than previous year. PIA operated 290 Hajj and Regular Scheduled flights from Jeddah and Madinah to Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta, Multan, Faisalabad and Sialkot.

The Hujjaj of Sukkur and Rahim Yar khan were transported via Karachi and Lahore. The overall flight regularity and punctuality of hajj flights during pre and post hajj operation remained above 90 percent.

Federal Minister for Aviation, Ghulam Sarwar Khan and CEO PIA Air Marshal Arshad Malik congratulated PIA Hajj team members on successful completion of Hajj operation, especially Passenger Services, Technical Ground Support, Marketing Department, Flight operations, Flight services, Engineering and Finance departments for their sincere efforts in making the Hajj operation successful and announced appreciation letters for the Hajj team members.

The entire hajj operation was conducted by PIA’s own fleet of A320 and B777 aircraft without acquiring any aircraft on lease.

PIA transported more than 21,100 Hujjaj to Karachi, 15,000 to Islamabad, 16700 to Lahore, 4750 to Multan, 1750 to Faisalabad 4400 to Sialkot, 10,400 to Peshawar and 8,200 Hujjaj to Quetta through Hajj and regular scheduled flights from Saudi Arabia.— PRESS RELEASE
