LAHORE–The National Accountability Bureau approved filing of reference against accused Khawaja Sadd Rafique, his brother Khawaja Salman Rafique and Nadeem Zia in Paragon City case on Friday.
The decision was taken in the Regional Board Meeting (RBM) held in National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore which was presided by the Director General NAB Lahore and was attended by all Directors of the Regional chapter.
Major developments over the Mega corruption cases were discussed in the board meeting.
As per the case details, Qaiser Amin Butt and accused Nadeem Zia established a company named Air Avenue Pvt Ltd in June 2003, later it was converted into M/S Paragon City Pvt on 11th August 2003.
Qaisar Amin Butt and accused Nadeem Zia remained as Directors of Paragon City Scheme, whereas, both applied for approval of “Lay-out Plan” from Town Nazim, Aziz Bhatti Town, Lahore of the said scheme for land measuring up to 7002 Kanal. For which, technical approval could only be taken in January 2005.
It is pertinent to mention here that at the time of seeking approval, Paragon City merely owned land measuring 1,085 Kanal on its name unless it’s approved which remains far less than 7,002 Kanal Land.— PRESS RELEASE
