Pakistan Railways Earned Rs1 Billion During Eid days: Minister Sh Rashid
LAHORE– Federal Minister for Railways Sheikh Rashid Ahmed said on Saturday that Pakistan Railways (PR) earned Rs one billion during Eid al-Fitr days.
Speaking at a press conference here at PR headquarters,he said,”PR has reserves of oil for at least five days and there is no shortage of oil.”
He said around 2 million passengers reached their destinations during Eid days that is a record.
The minister said up to 30 trains are running at this moment and the management has saved 2 million litre oil.
Rashid said they would upgrade the railway stations of Lahore Cantt, Kot Lakhpat and Raiwind in order to lessen the burden of passengers on City Railway Station.
He informed that fines worth Rs300 million have been received from travelers without tickets.
The minister further said Pakistan Railways is going to get Rs16 billion from the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) and it has received 165 percent of ML-1 budget.
He said Prime Minister Imran Khan will inaugurate Sir Syed Express on June 30 from either Islamabad or Karachi.— LAHORE MIRROR REPORT
