LAHORE MIRROR — Retired Lieutenant General Nauman Mehmood has been appointed the first secretary general under the Makkah Defence Pact, the Foreign Office said.
According to the Foreign Office, the newly appointed secretary general Nauman Mehmood will lead the alliance’s General Secretariat, which is to be established in Riyadh.
The Makkah Joint Defence Pact is a trilateral defence agreement between Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye.
Under the agreement, an attack on any one of the three countries will be regarded as an attack on all three.
