NAB Lahore Issues Mechanism to All Regulators to Prevent Frauds in Housing Sector
LAHORE– The Director General National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Lahore has issued directives to display boards comprising complete details of a housing society and specified map of approved area of a society along with approval from regulatory body.
Maps of blocks affixed at the entrance of each block, guidelines for members at a society office and marking of land reserved for public buildings whether developed or yet to be constructed have also been advised by the NAB.
These instructions have to be conveyed to all regulators including Lahore Development Authority (LDA), Faisalabad Development Authority (FDA), Cooperative Department, Punjab and Deputy Commissioners of Lahore, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad and Sahiwal.
It has been further clarified that in various Housing Societies Scams processed by this Bureau, the Managements of housing societies intentionally hide exact information of Society from general public and deceive them with fake claims even in such way plots and houses are being sold without compulsory approval of Regulatory bodies.

To prevent cheating by such owners, in future, all public areas viz Mosques, Grave yards, Schools Colleges and grounds etc. is decided to displayed on display boards along with dedicated spaces.
As a model, this mechanism has been got implemented in a Private Housing Society in Lahore. Whereas, keeping in view the enormous admiration from general public, NAB Lahore has issued instructions to implement same mechanism in all societies established in throughout Lahore and other adjoining cities.
