Medical Superintendents Get Last 15-Day Warning To Improve Performance

LAHORE– Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmin Rashid Tuesday issued last warning to the Medical Superintendents (MSs) of all teaching hospitals for improving their performance, after 15 days those showing poor performance would be changed.
This was stated by her while presiding over a high-level meeting at Specialized Healthcare & Medical Education Department.
Secretary Health Momin Agha, Special Secretary Mian Shakeel, VC FJMU Prof. Dr. Amir Zaman Khan, VC KEMU Prof. Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal and Principal Allama Iqbal Medical College Dr. Arif Tajamul were also present on the occasion.
CEO Mayo Hospital Prof. Dr. Asad Aslam Khan, Principal SIMS Prof. Dr. Mehmood Ayaz, MS Services Hospital Dr. Saleem Cheema, MS Ganga Ram Dr. Fayyaz Butt, MS Jinnah Hospital Dr. Iftikhar, MD Children Hospital Prof. Dr. Saleem, MS General Hospital Dr. Mehmood Salahuddin and other concerned officers participated in the meeting.
Dr. Yasmin Rashid said that action will be taken against MS on poor cleanliness condition in public sector hospital. She said that relief and ease should be provided to the patients coming in public sector hospitals.
“Patients should not face any difficulty regarding provision of medical facilities and availability of medicines in public sector hospitals. Misbehave with the patient cannot be tolerated in public sector hospitals.”
She said that provision of best healthcare facilities to the patients is the top priority of the government. PTI government believes in providing best healthcare facilities to the people.
Dr Yasmeen said that surprise visits would be conducted for monitoring and inspecting the medical facilities being provided to the patients in the hospitals and action against those who found guilty will be taken on the spot.

Family planning

Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid has called a meeting of all stakeholders regarding measures taken for family planning. The decisions will be finalized after consultation with stakeholders regarding evolving an effective strategy on family planning.
This was stated by her during a meeting with Country Director Path-Finder International Dr Tabinda Saroosh at Primary & Secondary Healthcare Department, here today. Dr Akhtar Rasheed, Prof. Dr Javed Chaudhry and other officers were present on the occasion.
Dr Tabinda Saroosh assured the provincial minister about her complete cooperation for setting up family planning labs in Okara, Pakpattan and Rawalpindi.
Dr Yasmin Rashid said that gyne wards of Rawalpindi and Okara will be revamped according to the modern demands. Steps are being taken on emergent basis for the family planning mobilization and referral system.— PRESS HANDOUT
