LAHORE MIRROR — Major artificial intelligence (AI) services, including OpenAI’s ChatGPT, OpenAI’s ChatGPT and xAI’s Grok, experienced disruptions simultaneously, according to outage-monitoring website Downdetector.
An American news website reported that while service disruptions are relatively common, simultaneous outages affecting three major AI models were unusual.
Reports also indicated disruptions to Google Gemini, although the company had not officially announced any service outage.
Anthropic’s Claude status dashboard reported disruptions affecting its Opus 4.8 and Opus 5 models, while the company said its other models had returned to their “baseline error rate”.
Meanwhile, OpenAI’s status dashboard showed that ChatGPT and Codex were experiencing persistent “elevated errors”.
xAI also reported technical problems affecting Grok, saying that it was working to resolve the issue.
Microsoft Azure, the cloud service provider used by all three AI platforms, was also experiencing an outage. This raised the possibility that an issue affecting Microsoft’s cloud services could be behind the simultaneous disruption of the AI platforms.
However, no company had immediately confirmed a common cause linking the outages.
