Lahore Police Swing into Action, Continue Retrieving Citizens’ Properties from Land Grabbers

LAHORE– Capital City Police Officer Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar has said that there is no space for Land grabbers and Badmash Mafia in the city. Lahore police will deal with iron hands to those who have illegally possessed the land and property of poor citizens.

A special Anti Qabza Mafia Cell as well as a dedicated non- emergency Helpline 1242 has been established at CCPO office for redress of grievances of citizens affected from land grabbers. Lahore Police, in continuation of its crackdown against land grabbers retrieved occupied lands and properties of citizens from land grabbers worth billions of rupees during last three days.

On the directions of Capital City Police Officer Ghulam Mahmood Dogar, Model Town Division Police retrieved commercial property worth billions of rupees of a resident of Ichra area Muhammad Naeem.

According to the details, a land grabber Zahoor had occupied the commercial property of the citizen for the last five years. The actual owner of the property, despite successfully winning his case of property from different courts in his favor, could not get the legal possession. Muhammad Naeem as last resort, contacted the Anti Qabza Mafia Cell established at Capital City Police office Lahore and lodged a written complaint against the land grabber.

CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mahmood Dogar ordered the concerned police officers to take immediate legal action against the land grabbers and ensure the retrieval to real owner. Accordingly, Model Town Division police took prompt action, retrieved the occupied property and handed over the possession to legal owner.

Similarly Iqbal Town Division police, responding to the written complaint of a citizen Jamil received at Anti Qabza Mafia Cell, in a successful crackdown at Nawan kot area, retrieved five marla house which was in illegal possession of accused tenants for the last thirteen years.

In another action, City Division Police retrieved 11 kanals of family land worth rupees 20 crore at Shafique Abad area which was illegally occupied by an Abdul Rashid for the last 12 years. The occupant Abdul Rashid had during this period, developed a factory and godown on the occupied land.

All the citizens who got back the possessions of their lands and properties have lauded the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan and Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar as well as continuous indiscriminate efforts of Capital City Police Chief Ghulam Mahmood Dogar to make provincial capital Lahore free of Badmash Mafia and land grabbers.— HANDOUT
