Kashmiri Leader Yasin Malik is a Symbol of Peace: Ahsan Kamray

LAHORE MIRROR– Human Rights activist Ahsan Kamray on Wednesday strongly condemned the life imprisonment of Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik by an Indian court on fake terrorism charges in dubious and motivated case.

In a statement, Kamray said Indian courts’ verdict was a mockery of justice. “Yasin Malik is a symbol of peaceful struggle against Indian occupation in Kashmir. The freedom struggle against Indian occupation is not terrorism, its morally correct, legitimate and genuine backed by international law and the UN resolutions.”

“The struggle for freedom and right to self-determination in Illegally Indian Occupied Jammu & Kashmir (IIOJK) is indigenous and could not be dampened by the draconian strong-arm tactics of the Indian government”, he added.

Kamray expressed serious concern over the plight of all incarcerated Hurriyat leaders, human rights activists, journalists and common citizens languishing in jails in occupied Kashmir and India.

He appealed to the international community, the United Nations and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to play their role in the solution of the Kashmir issue in the light of the United Nations” Security Council’s .

He said the world community particularly the United Nations and the Human Rights Council should take notice of extra law and justice activities of the Indian government based on victimization of the Kashmiri leadership.— PRESS RELEASE
