Ist Int’l E-Conference on ‘Recent Advances in Computer Sciences and IT’ Kicked Off at UE

LAHORE– A four-day e-conference on Education Policy 2021 was kicked off at the University of Education (UE) today. The Conference will continue till 22nd January.

The Chief Guest of the inauguration ceremony was the Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid, while it was presided over by Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.), the Vice Chancellor University of Education.

The renowned educationists from all over Pakistan and abroad including Ex-Vice Chancellor UE Prof. Dr. Munwar Sultana Mirza, Vice Chancellor, University of Baltistan, Skardu, Prof Dr. Naeem Khan, Dean, Faculty of Education, Punjab University, Prof. Dr. Abid Hussain, Prof. Dr. Rafaqat Ali Akbar, Prof. Dr. Naseer Mansour (Exeter University, UK), Prof. Dr. Ihtesham Rehman (Lancaster University, UK), Dr. Parveen Ali (University of Sheffield, UK), Ex- Vice Chancellor, Sargodha University, Prof. Dr. Riaz ul Haq Tariq, Chairman BISE Hyderabad, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Memon and others Will present their proposals during the Conference.

In his opening remarks, the Chairman Punjab Higher Education Commission Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said in 2021 education policy we should primarily focus on following issues;

1. How to bring our out of school children in schools.
2. The establishment of new educational institutions i.e. school, colleges and universities.
3. Development of infrastructure.
4. Training of teachers.
5. Ensure quality while increasing quantity.

Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said our aim should not be just to award degrees to our students rather we have to prepare them to face the challenges of tomorrow. we should focus on imparting the type of education which fulfil the need of our industry as well. We should equip our students with basic necessary skills so that they can contribute towards the betterment of our economy. He said we are the sixth largest country regarding population and we should use this potential very wisely. Dr. Fazal Ahmad Khalid said I am sure this Conference will serve as a very useful platform to exchange our ideas while formulating education policy 2021. He said the proposals of the said Conference will be placed before the Vice Chancellors of the Universities and then the same will be placed before the Ministers of Education.

On this occasion, the Vice Chancellor University of Education Prof. Dr. Talat Naseer Pasha (S.I.) said education plays most vital role in the social and economic development of every nation. We should formulate a vibrant education policy while keeping in view our past mistakes, our present situation and our future aspirations. Dr. Pasha said curriculum is the most important factor in education policy so we should pay our special attention towards a dynamic curriculum.

Unfortunately we are far behind from many countries regarding health, education and economy and we can come out from this situation only through education, he assured the participants. We should focus our attention towards professional development of our teachers at every level so that they could produce good, educated, well-mannered generations, he added.
