TEHRAN: The US forces have moved more than 500 kilometers away from the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman out of fear of Iran, the IRGC deputy commander said, adding that American forces may retreat even farther given Washington’s current situation, Tasneem news reported.
Speaking to Tasnim on Friday, Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps Major General Mostafa Izadi said the US forces have “fled the Persian Gulf and Sea of Oman out of fear of Iran” and have kept more than 500 kilometers away from the country’s waters.
“Given the current situation of the United States, this distance may increase even further,” he added.
The general said regional countries have now realized that the US military presence does not create security and is, in fact, detrimental to security.
He further noted that Iran’s Armed Forces have become more alert and better prepared through wars and conflicts, while the country’s fighters and people have learned the enemy’s tactics.
“Iranian people have been present in the streets for seven months and thwarted the enemy’s plan to disintegrate our country and gain control over our oil,” General Izadi said.
He stressed that despite carrying out numerous assassinations, the enemy has failed to contain Iran’s power or defeat the country.
“The Resistance Front has accomplished a major feat, and today the Strait of Hormuz and the Bab al-Mandab Strait are in the hands of the Resistance,” the commander stated.
The IRGC deputy chief noted that a new situation has emerged in the region, adding, “Today, the enemy has fled hundreds of kilometers away from our seas out of fear of Iran’s ballistic missiles.”
He described the development as a demonstration of the Islamic Republic’s strength and steadfastness in confronting its adversaries.
