LAHORE MIRROR — India defeated Pakistan 4-3 in a thrilling first semi-final of the hockey event at the Asian Games in Nagoya.
Pakistan fell three goals behind before staging a strong comeback to level the score at 3-3. However, India scored in the closing moments to secure a 4-3 victory and book their place in the final.
Harmanpreet Singh scored twice for India, while Sukhjeet Singh and Abhishek contributed one goal each.
For Pakistan, Abu Bakar Mahmood, Hannan Shahid and Rana Waheed found the net during the comeback.
The defeat ended Pakistan’s hopes of reaching the Asian Games hockey final, while India advanced to the title decider.
The second semi-final will see Malaysia face South Korea.
