Illegal Housing Colonies in Kalar Kahar: ACE Punjab Registers Cases Against Ex-DG EPA, 9 Others
LAHORE– The Anti-Corruption Establishment (ACE) Punjab has launched crackdown against illegal housing colonies set up in Kalar Kahar Chakwal by lodging FIRs.
During the ACE investigation more facts have been revealed and committee recommended to lodge FIRs against the responsible of this unlawful act.
On the recommendations of investigating committee, the ACE Rawalpindi lodged FIRs against former Director General Environment Protection Authority (EPA) and nine others on the charges of corruption, negligence from official duties and backing illegal activities.
The administration of housing colonies established at Kalar Kahar did not get any NOC from concerned departments nor get approval of the map of colonies from the District Council Chakwal.
For establishing new colonies, the developers illegally cut the trees and damaged the greenery and create environmental pollution in the area. This activity directly hit the natural beauty of the area.
On the recommendations of the said committee now FIRs have been filed against Ex-DG Environment Protection Authority Lahore Muhammad Tanveer Jabbar.
DG EPA Irfan Nazir, Assistant Director Environment Fawad Ali, DO Planning Tariq Aziz Enforcement Inspector District Council Chakwal Sher Ali, MOP Kalar Kahar Shehbaz Ahmed, Ex-Sub Registrar Maqbool Hussain, Registry Kalar Kahar Shabbir Ahmed owner Bismillah Form House Ikhlaq Ahmed and owner Shalimar Hills Housing Scheme Nisar Ahmed. It was also exposed in the meeting that ex-Minister Law Punjab Rana Sanaullah Khan has also owned two form houses in one of these illegal housing colonies.
These farm houses were transferred to ex-Law Minister even on less price of scheduled rate of the area. To explore further role of ex-Minister Law, the committee will continue its investigation.— PRESS HANDOUT
