IGP Arif Nawaz Remembers Police Martyrs, Their Families On Eid Al-Fitr


LAHORE– Inspector General of Punjab Police Captain (retired) Arif Nawaz Khan has said the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the future of nation are asset of Punjab Police.

Officials and officers of Punjab Police are with their families at the joyous occasion of Eid to honor their courage and resolve, he said.

Khan further said cheques of martyr package for the police martyrs including Data Darbar blast were delivered before Eid and gifts were also presented to the families of police martyrs across Punjab.

The provincial police chief expressed those views after offering Eid prayer and visiting Yadgar-e-Shuhda at the Police Lines Qila Gujar Singh Lahore.

The IG Punjab laid flowers on Yadgar-e-Shuhada and offered Fateha for the higher ranks of martyrs.

At this occasion he also gave Eidi to police officials and children of police martyrs.

The IG Punjab said that all the problems and issues of families of police martyrs are like my own and to resolve them at earliest is my priority. At this occasion IG Punjab also directed senior officers to further improve the security of the city during three days of Eid.

During the Eid prayer at Police Lines Qila Gujar Singh Lahore Addl IG Training Tariq Masood Yasin, Addl IG CTD Rai Muhamad Tahir, JDG IB Lahore Farooq Mazhar, CCPO Lahore B A Nasir, DIG Operations Punjab Atta Muhammad Mayo, DIG SPU Sultan Ahmad Chaudhary, DIG Operations Lahore Ashfaque Ahmad Khan, CTO Lahore Captain (retired) Liaqat Ali Malik and other retired and on duty officers and officials were present.

IGP takes notice of firing between two groups in Multan

Furthermore IGP took notice of the killings due to firing and rivalry in two groups in Multan and called an emergency video link conference in which DIG Operations Punjab Atta Muhammad Mayo, RPO Multan Waseem Ahmad Khan Sial, CPO Multan Imran Mehmood and other senior officers partook.

IG Punjab showed strong displeaseure on the unfortunate incident and the killings on Eid day and suspended SDPO Jalal Pur Peerwala Muhamad Saleem Akhtar and called an explanation from CPO Multan Imran Mehmood, SSP Operations Multan Kashif Aslam and SP Sadar Multan Mustafa Pahore.

RPO Multan briefed IG Punjab that police arrested eight nominated persons immediately their names are Khurram, Azhar, Jawad, Hanif, Saleem, Haseeb, Yaseen and Shahid while police teams are carrying out raids to arrest other culprits.

On the orders of IGP, a temporary police chowki is also established in the area.— PRESS HANDOUT
