LAHORE MIRROR — A woman broadcast journalist and TV anchor was found dead at her residence in Gulshanabad, located on Adiala Road in Rawalpindi, rescue officials said.
The deceased was identified as Rabia Ahsan, who worked as a news anchor for a television channel.
Police confirmed that her husband, Ahsan, had been taken into custody as investigations into the incident got underway.
According to police sources, Ahsan has given an initial statement, claiming that the shooting was accidental and that a bullet struck his wife.
Police sources further said that there had been no reported marital discord between the couple. Rabia’s mother and sisters were also present at the house at the time of the incident.
Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.
