LAHORE– In connection with the ‘Let us make Lahore Green’ campaign of the Lahore Development Authority, Nippon Paints Pakistan has adopted the central park of LDA Avenue 1 housing scheme for its permanent upkeep and maintenance as corporate social responsibility of the organization.
Spreading over 100 kanals of land, the park is situated between F and H blocks of LDA Avenue 1. Besides planting 1,000 trees, the paint company will also carry out day-to-day look after of this park and will develop it as per international standards.
Vice Chairman Lahore Development Authority S.M. Imran, President Nippon Paints Pakistan Syed Samad Zaheer and Director General Lahore Development Authority Muhammad Usman Moazzam inaugurated the plantation campaign at the central park on Monday.
Expressing his views at this occasion, S.M. Imran said that besides improving the environment, the plants also give spiritual satisfaction to the people. “Planting trees was the need of the hour and it was very encouraging to note that corporate sector had also come forward and joined hands with LDA for this national cause”, he added.
President Nippon Paints Pakistan Syed Samad Zaheer said that his company had taken the initiative of adopting a park as its corporate social responsibility. He expressed the hope that other corporate bodies will also come forward for ‘ clean and green Pakistan’.
Director General, LDA, Muhammad Usman Moazzam said that tree plantation was not the duty of some government departments only, it was the responsibility of every citizen of the society. Everyone should play its role for clean environment by planting trees, he added.
