LAHORE MIRROR — A case has been registered over the alleged gang rape of a foreign woman in Lahore’s Defence area, while police have identified the suspects and formed special teams to arrest them.
Lahore Deputy Inspector General (DIG) Investigation Zeeshan Raza said the suspects involved in the alleged assault had been identified and special teams had been constituted to apprehend them.
The teams will be headed by SP Investigation Cantt Asim Iftikhar, the DIG said, adding that all available resources were being utilised to arrest the suspects and bring them to justice.
According to police, the 20-year-old woman, identified as Diana and a citizen of Azerbaijan, had arrived in Lahore a few days ago. Two unidentified women allegedly lured her to a café, where three of their male associates were present.
The suspects allegedly gave the woman a drug-laced drink before subjecting her to gang rape. They later abandoned her near the airport and fled, police said.
Further investigation is under way.
