LAHORE– The Punjab Food Authority (PFA) teams sealed three slaughterhouses, food factory, food caterer and Paan Shop sealed over non-compliance. The operation was carried out later in the night on Saturday.
According to the details, in a bid to combat food adulterators, PFA teams raided Noor Dera Slaughterhouse for storing and selling rotten unhygienic meat. Likewise, in Ghoray Shah area of metropolis, Food Safety Teams sealed other two slaughterhouses for non-compliance as well. The meat was taken into custody and later discarded according to rules & regulations.
Moreover, FSTs raided & sealed Waheed Desi Food Factory for using unhygienic chemicals and food color for the preparation of various products. The premises and food production area was also swarming with insects told DG PFA, Rafaqat Ali Nisowana.
For ignoring the previous instructions for improvement given by FSTs, Jhoolay Laal Pakwaan Centre in Ravi Town and Bhola Paan Shop in Kasur for selling banned Gutka were sealed said DG PFA. Citizens are encouraged to report adulteration & other crimes related to Food business as a shared responsibility, he further maintained.— HANDOUT
