LAHORE– Punjab Minister for Health Dr Yasmeen Rashid delivered a lecture to the senior registrars at the King Edward Medical University (KEMU) on Friday,saying doctors are enjoying facilities they never had in the medical history of the country.
Vice-Chancellor Dr. Khalid Masood Gondal, Prof. Dr. Asad Aslam Khan and senior registrars of affiliated medical colleges were present on this occasion.
Addressing the senior registrars, Dr Yasmeen Rashid said that facilities of doctors have been increased substantially for the first time in the history of this country.
She said that senior registrars hold special position in any hospital. She said that doctors professions is not only resource of earning livelihood but it is also a very noble and holy profession. She said that recruitment in health sector have been made on 100 percent merit.
The minister said that recommendation (Sifarish) will not be entertained for the promotion of any individual in health sector. She said that research culture is being promoted in medical universities. She further maintained that senior registrar should play due role for improving the condition of public sector hospital.
She said that improvement in health sector is the top priority of Prime Minister Imran Khan two billion rupees has been allocated in the budget for the revamping of hospitals of the province.
Dr Yasmeen said that Prime Minister Imran Khan has adopted strict stance against the Indian aggression. Jails are now the destiny of Sharif family as they are soaked with corruption.— PRESS HANDOUT
