LAHORE– The District Administration Lahore continued its Dengue awareness drive on second day of “Dengue week” as all administrative officers paid visits to different parts of their jurisdiction on Tuesday to ensure dengue surveillance and to monitor dengue workers.
District Administration specially focused on graveyard, junkyards, swimming pools in regard with dengue surveillance on the second day. Similarly walks, seminars in colleges and schools were arranged to create awareness among students so that they could be made awareness ambassadors of dengue drive.
Deputy Commissioner Lahore Saleha Saeed also visited Miania Sahib graveyard to check dengue surveillance where dengue team briefed her that no larva had been traced out in Miani Sahib graveyard.
She later on, reached at chairing cross where she led an awareness walk arranged by AC City. She also distributed pamphlets among citizens and appealed them to follow all precautionary instructions as it is the conducive environment for larva breeding.
Moreover, Additional Deputy Commissioners also remained in the field.
ADCR Asghar Joyia and ADCG Safdar Hussain Virk visited union councils 30 and 94 respectively where they randomly checked dengue teams working in said UCs. Assistant Commissioner City, Model Town, Raiwind, Cantt and Shalimar also visited Mian Meer, Miani Sahib, Gulberg graveyards and checked dengue related arrangements.— PRESS RELEASE
