LAHORE– Deputy Commissioner Lahore Ms Saleha Saeed paid a surprise visit to Mian Mir Hospital on Wednesday and check the presence of each doctor in his/her assigned ward as per duty roaster and facility being provided to the patients.
The hospital’s Medical Superintendent accompanied the DC Lahore when he heard about the surprise arrival of DC in hospital and he started briefing about the arrangements in regard with free medicine provision to the patients and cleanliness in hospital.
The DC Lahore visited ICU, Nursery Ward, Gaynae ward, and general ward of the said hospital and inquired from patients about the facilities and time of doctors’ visits to wards.
She showed her displeasure over dirtiness in washroom of Nursery Ward and directed the MS to forthwith ensure cleanliness in all wash rooms.
On knowing about some officials of cleanliness staff working else where she immediately directed the MS to call back all employees and depute them for cleanliness in said hospital.
On her visit to Gaynae ward, she came to know that there is only one female doctor running the entire affairs of the ward upon which the MS briefed that two female doctors had been selected for higher studies.
The DC Lahore instructed the MS to urgently prepare a case for recruiting new doctors in vacant post.
She also inquired about the medical, surgery and electrical equipment in hospital on which MS revealed that they had been taken through Health Council.
On the complaints of less numbers of benches for patients’ sitting, she forthwith directed the hospital administration to prepare and case and submit a detailed report of hospital be submitted in her office with little span of time.
She also paid her visit to the polio camp set up in hospital and checked the polio vaccination being administered to less than five years children.
On knowing the meager number of delivery cases in hospital, Ms Saeed directed the WMO to enhance its monthly numbers and sensitize people of the vicinity to bring their females for delivery cases in Mian Mir Hospital as it is outstanding and state of the art Gaynae ward.
DC appreciates working of five polio teams
Five polio teams of different union councils, working in different areas, have been appreciated as they have performed matchless in the last two days polio drive and directed CEO Health Authority Lahore to issue appreciation letters.
These instructions were given by DC Lahore Saleha Saeed after she evaluated the performance of each team in a meeting held in Nadir Hall which continued for five hours uninterruptedly.
The meeting was attended by the Additional Deputy Commissioner Lahore General, Assistant Commissioners, representatives of Unicef and WHO and others.
The CEO Lahore briefed about the performance of polio teams on which DC Lahore appreciated the working of polio workers namely Yasmin and Ayesha (Union Council 8), Nimra and Rizwana (union council 23), Sana Nadeem and Gulzar Shah (Union Council 19) and Neelam and Nargis (Union Council 19) and she also appreciated DDO Health Ravi and Shalimar over outstanding supervision.
