LAHORE MIRROR — Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s daughter, Mahnoor Safdar, is set to tie the knot on Saturday, with her nikkah ceremony scheduled to be held at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra residence.
According to family sources, the nikkah will be a private affair, with only close relatives and family members invited to the ceremony.
Sources said Mahnoor’s marriage has been arranged with a member of a prominent business family. However, the Sharif family has not officially announced details of the groom or any reception and other wedding festivities.
Maryam Nawaz’s daughter has largely remained away from the public spotlight. The wedding comes shortly after Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz travelled to London to attend her daughter’s graduation ceremony. She returned to Lahore on Wednesday.
Speaking after attending the graduation ceremony, the chief minister expressed happiness over her daughter’s achievement, saying the occasion was a moment of joy for her and the entire family.
The wedding of the Punjab chief minister’s daughter follows that of her brother, Junaid Safdar, who married Shanzeh Ali Rohale, granddaughter of former legislator Shaikh Rohale Asghar, in January.
Junaid’s wedding celebrations included a mehndi, baraat and valima ceremonies at the Sharif family’s Jati Umra estate.
