FAISALABAD– Punjab Health Minister Dr Yasmeen Rashid has announced to establish Child Health University after up-gradation of Child Complex Lahore.
“The basic purpose to make this university is to conduct research about different issues related to child health,” the minister announced after chairing the syndicate meeting of the Faisalabad Medical University.
The Vice Chancellor and all faculty members were also there in the syndicate meeting. All administrative matter and developmental projects of the university were discussed in the meeting.
Dr Yasmeen said on this occasion that AIDS control centers will be established in all districts of Punjab. Shelter homes for the attendants of patients are being established with the help of donors.
“It is very good sign of Punjab government to provide the maximum budget for social sectors. Nine new hospitals including five child and mothers hospitals will be established in different cities of Punjab. Basic initiatives to protect the life of mother and child during pregnancy is taken.”
The budget of Rs2 billion has been announced for Sehat Insaf Cards, Dr Yasmin said, adding new board of the Punjab Healthcare Commission has bee constituted to improve its professional standards.
“The anti-polio campaign will be made 100 percent successful in respective areas of Punjab.”
Health supervisors and health workers have been directed to ensure dispensation of polio drops at every house by visiting, the minister added.— PRESS HANDOUT
