LAHORE MIRROR — A 17-year-old boy was arrested in Bahawalpur for allegedly seeking instructions from artificial intelligence (AI) on how to poison his father, the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA) said on Wednesday.
According to an NCCIA spokesperson, the teenager was arrested following intelligence information received from abroad.
The spokesperson said the suspect was allegedly inspired by the popular American crime drama Breaking Bad and had set up a laboratory at his home, where he reportedly attempted to prepare poison after seeking guidance from AI.
The suspect allegedly procured chemical materials from Australia and Islamabad and prepared the poison. After his first alleged attempt to poison his father failed, he reportedly sought further guidance from AI to make another attempt.
The NCCIA subsequently arrested the teenager on the basis of intelligence information received from abroad.
The operation was conducted on the directives of NCCIA Punjab Director Hissam bin Iqbal.
