LAHORE MIRROR — An Azerbaijani woman, Diana, who alleged that she was gang-raped in Lahore, has reportedly issued a video statement declaring the accused, Ahmed Tanveer, innocent and urging the authorities to close the case.
In a video circulating on social media, Diana denied that Ahmed Tanveer had assaulted her or taken away her mobile phones. She described her earlier statements regarding the alleged assault as having been made under pressure and appealed to the relevant authorities to drop the case.

At the beginning of the video, she referred to October 9, suggesting that it may have been recorded several days ago.
Reports also suggest that Diana declared Ahmed Tanveer innocent in documents submitted through the Azerbaijani embassy.
Meanwhile, police reportedly arrested Ahmed Tanveer outside the court despite his interim bail having been granted until October 27.
In another video, Diana reiterated that Ahmed Tanveer had not forced himself upon her. She alleged that she had wanted to appear before the court in person but was told that her life was in danger and was forcibly sent out of Pakistan.
She also said she forgave the other two accused, Mohsin and Ali Zain, and did not wish to pursue the matter further. She urged others not to use her name in their personal disputes.
Diana first came to public attention in the last week of September, when she claimed to have been gang-raped in Lahore.
