LAHORE MIRROR — Pakistan secured another medal at the Asian Games on Friday as Noor Zaman and Mohammad Ashab Irfan won their respective singles matches to reach the semi-finals of the squash competition.
Third seed Noor defeated Hong Kong’s Chi Hin Henry Leung, while fifth seed Ashab overcame India’s fourth-seeded Veer Chotrani at the Nagoya Kinjo Futo Arena, ensuring Pakistan’s place in the medal rounds.
Noor, Pakistan’s highest-ranked player in the draw, was tested by Leung but kept his composure to book his place in the last four.
Ashab also produced a determined performance against Chotrani, recovering from losing the opening game to secure a 3-1 victory.
The victories guaranteed Pakistan another medal from the squash event, with both players now through to the semi-finals.
