AIM-UAE Plans Facilitating Pakistani Entrepreneurs
LAHORE– AIM (Annual Investment Meeting), a UAE Ministry of Economy initiative, plans to facilitate and promote local entrepreneurs in Punjab by providing them a platform to exhibit their ideas to an international community of Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists.
In this regard, Regional Manager of Annual Investment Meeting (AIM), MaazAyub paid a two-day visit to Lahore on the invitation of Punjab Board of Investment & Trade (PBIT).
The Investment Advisory & Entrepreneurship department of PBIT engaged various Incubation centers and their Start-ups through special one-on-one interactive sessions with Mr. Maaz, with the purpose to create linkages between AIM-UAE & the local community.
Chairman PBIT Sardar Tanvir IIlyas Khan also met with the startups and took special interest in retail-tech entrepreneurs. He assured them utmost support from the platform of PBIT.
Maaz Ayub, Regional Manager AIM said that AIM-UAE plans to facilitate and promote local entrepreneurs, especially those that showcase the startup ecosystem established in Punjab, by providing them a platform to exhibit their ideas to an international community of Angel Investors and Venture Capitalists.
Discussion was also held that via AIM-MOE, PBIT will approach Hamdan Innovation Incubator (UAE) to pitch local startups especially related to smart government.
Chairman PBIT, Sardar Tanveer IIlyas Khan said that as per its mandate, PBIT is providing maximum support in promoting incubation centers and their start-ups.
“We are proud of developing entrepreneurial ecosystem in Punjab facilitated by these incubation centers, he added.”
During the visit, PBIT arranged AIM’s meetings with top incubators like Plan 9, Innovation District 92, NSpire (Netsol), Social Innovation Lab (SIL), TICK (UET) with the purpose of setting up institutional linkages with AIM-UAE.
It was also shared that AIM-UAE would shortlist the start-ups from these incubation centers for the upcoming Annual Investment Meeting Dubai scheduled for March 2020 and also help local incubators in establishing linkages with various top incubators from Middle East, Europe, Oceanic and Latin American regions.— PRESS RELEASE
