LAHORE MIRROR — An inquiry into former Data Darbar khateeb Mufti Muhammad Ramzan Sialvi has been completed, with allegations of financial misconduct, embezzlement and forgery found to have been established, according to a spokesperson for the Punjab Auqaf Department.
The spokesperson said the inquiry was conducted under the Punjab Employees Efficiency, Discipline and Accountability (PEEDA) Act. As a result, Mufti Ramzan Sialvi has been barred from being posted in Lahore and its adjoining areas for five years.
The Auqaf Department has also ordered the recovery of more than Rs26.58 million from him, the spokesperson said.
In addition, Mufti Ramzan Sialvi has been demoted from BS-19 to BS-18 for a period of five years. The department has ordered his posting as Zonal Khateeb Auqaf in Dera Ghazi Khan.
The department has further prohibited his appointment to any major shrine or mosque in the future, according to the spokesperson.
