LAHOR EMIRROR — Security forces neutralised 37 terrorists in intelligence-based operations against what the Ministry of Information described as the Indian proxy group Fitna al-Khawarij in various districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and along the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
According to the ministry, comprehensive intelligence-based operations were launched following recent terrorist attacks in the province, targeting militant hideouts and safe havens in Kohat, Hangu and Thall.
It said nine militants were killed and several others injured during operations in Kohat and Hangu on September 20.
The ministry said militant camps and hideouts were also targeted in the Pak-Afghan border region, where three targets were successfully destroyed, including a centre used to train suicide bombers.

It said 28 militants, including several suicide bombers, were killed in the operation, while large quantities of weapons and ammunition stored at their camps and hideouts were also destroyed.
The ministry said Pakistan had always sought to promote peace and stability in the region, with the safety and security of its citizens remaining its top priority.
It expressed concern that Afghanistan continued to serve as a base for terrorism, saying the terrorist threat facing Pakistan originated there.
The ministry said maximum precautionary measures were taken to avoid collateral damage and vowed that the ongoing Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq would continue at full pace to eliminate terrorism allegedly backed and supported by foreign elements.
