ISLAMABAD: A report submitted to the Supreme Court by the Superintendent of Adiala Jail says that multiple government doctors regularly examine Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
The two-page report, submitted in connection with Imran Khan’s health and meetings with visitors, also referred to an assurance given by Salman Akram Raja before the Islamabad High Court that he would not speak to the media within the jail premises after meeting the PTI founder.
According to the report, however, the court’s order was subsequently violated when media talks were held. It noted that a single-member bench of the Islamabad High Court had already declared Rule 265 of the prison rules unlawful in the Sher Afzal case.
The report further alleged that meetings at the jail had been used to provoke public sentiment against the judiciary, foreign policy and law-enforcement agencies.
It said Imran Khan and his wife were regularly allowed to meet every Tuesday in accordance with the jail rules, adding that they had so far held 84 meetings.
The report also stated that Imran Khan’s lawyer, Salman Safdar, had met him on February 10 and April 4, 2026.
According to the jail authorities, medical officers check Imran Khan’s food and drink three times a day and conduct regular medical examinations. It added that several government doctors had examined him and that records of the check-ups were available.
A summary of 39 medical examinations conducted by various specialists between November 4, 2023 and August 10, 2026 was also attached to the report.
The report said Imran Khan had also received treatment from an ophthalmologist for an eye condition, adding that the vision in one of his eyes had become almost normal.
