Agri Expo-2018 starts from tomorrow

LAHORE: The two-day International Agri-Expo-2018 will start from Saturday (tomorrow) at the Lahore Expo Centre to attract the exporters dealing with fruits, vegetable and rice to enhance exports.
The Agri Expo is an effort to set fertile grounds for fruitful collaborations and business venture with national and international players in the agriculture industry while the Punjab Agriculture Department (PAD) will host this expo.
The PAD Spokesman Rai Mudassar Abbas told The Business on Thursday, the expo will provide unique opportunity to the local and international stakeholders to markets their products in Pakistan and develop linkages.
Abbas said that expo will be an ideal opportunity for growers, processors, importers, exporters, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, input suppliers, associations and financial institutions to develop national as well as international linkages.
Agriculture and allied food processing sectors in Pakistan are expected to generate better momentum in future due to increase in investments and infrastructure viz.
He said that through the exhibition, the department will promote Pakistan as a land of investment and opportunities for growth of agricultural trade in domestic and international markets. The Punjab Agriculture Department with the help of government is fully committed to facilitate foreign investors with the provision of technical services, Abbas added.
A single platform will provide a platform and countless opportunities with Pakistan’s leading growers and companies in the agriculture industry where they will show their experiences, innovations and current developments. Punjab Agri Expo will be the most important trade show in Pakistan whereas approximately 40,000 visitors with agro mechanisation majors, business farmers, contractors and dealers from all over the world are expected to attend the expo.
It is pertinent to mention here that such an exceptional opportunity for the growers had never provided to show cause their strength and specialties to a diversified audience and make presentation and demonstration of their products and services.
Kashirf Jamshed, Project Coordinator Establishment of Model Farms while talking to this scribe said that 100 stalls have been booked. More than 50 buyers and delegates from international community’s including Malaysia, Indonesia, China, Norway, Germany, Afghanistan, Turkey and Qatar have confirmed their participation, Jamshed asserted, adding that around 7,000 farmers from Pakistan will also attend this expo.
Agri Expo 2018 will be inaugurated by Governor of the Punjab Rafiq Rajwana along with caretaker Minister for Food and Agriculture and Planning & Development Sardar Tanveer Ilyas on Saturday (June 23), at 10am
